2024, April 18th - 'Art OnO', a global art fair opening at SETEC in Gangnam-gu, Seoul from April 18th to 21st, is a new art fair launched for the first time this year by Jaemyung Noh, CEO of Art OnO, known as an MZ art collector.

'OnO' is an abbreviation for 'One and Only' and means ‘new and different'. Rather than focusing only on investing in art, it is an art fair that creates opportunities for everyone who loves art to feel the flow of global art and interact. Over 50 galleries from over 20 countries are participating.

If you go to large global art fairs such as Art Basel Hong Kong or Frieze, similar works are presented every year. Many of them contain expensive works by famous artists. There are many emerging new artists around the world, but to appreciate or purchase their works, you have to go to a local gallery in a foreign country. ‘ART OnO’, where you can see the works of these artists in one place, exhibits many works by emerging new overseas artists, making it very attractive not only to collectors and art world officials but also to the general public.

In particular, each gallery carefully selects and presents works by emerging artists who are currently active and expected to grow further in the future.

Galleries from 15 countries are participating this art fair, including famous galleries such as; Arario Gallery, Gallery Barton, Duarte Square, etc. Galleries from Israel, Portugal and Belgium are also participating.

In particular, Pearl Lam Gallery presents a diverse range of artists from China, Nigeria, Slovakia, UK, and US. Nigerian born Alimi Adewale (1974) is an artist who creates creative works based on the African experience. Through his latest work 'Figurative Fusion' series, which explores the intersection of traditional realism and modern abstraction harmoniously presents various artistic elements. Dvir Gallery presents a solo exhibition booth by Aysha E Arar, a young Palestinian artist who asks what freedom through fantasy and imagination is about the lives of women in traditional society.

Cadet Capela Gallery in Paris presents the work of Jordy Ketwick. The stripped-down perspective and vivid composition immortalize the fantastical yet autobiographical subject. 4월18일 부터 21일까지 서울 강남구 세텍(SETEC)에서 개막하는 글로벌 아트페어인 '아트 오앤오'는 MZ미술품 컬렉터로 알려진 노재명 아트 오앤오 대표가 올해 첫 선을 보이는 신생 아트페어입니다.

'오앤오'는 원 앤 온리(One and Only)의 약자로 '유일무이' '새롭고 다르다'는 의미입니다. 미술품 투자에만 치중하지 않고, 글로벌 아트의 흐름을 느끼고, 아트를 사랑하는 모든 이가 교류할 수 있는 기회를 만드는 아트페어로 펼친다. 20여 개국 50여 개 갤러리가 참여합니다

아트바젤 홍콩, 프리즈와 같은 대형 글로벌 아트페어에 가보면 매년 비슷비슷한 작품들이 나옵니다. 그 중 대부분은 유명 작가들의 비싼 작품들이 포함되어 있습니다. 세계 곳곳에 유망한 신진 작가들이 많지만 이들의 작품을 감상하거나 구매하려면 외국에 있는 현지 갤러리를 찾아 다녀야만 볼 수 있습니다. 이런 작가들 작품을 한 자리에서 볼 수 있는 ‘아트 오앤오(ART OnO)’에서는 해외의 유망한 신진 작가들의 작품들이 다수 전시 되기 때문에 컬렉터나 미술계 관계자뿐만 아니라 일반 대중에게도 굉장히 매력적입니다.

특히 각 갤러리들은 현재 활발하게 활동 중이면서 앞으로 더욱 성장할 것으로 기대되는 신진 작가들의 작품을 엄선해 선보입니다.

이번 아트페어에서는 유명갤러리인 아라리오 갤러리, 갤러리 바톤, 두아르트 스퀘이라, 등을 포함하여 15개국 갤러리들이 이름을 올렸습니다. 이스라엘과, 포르투갈, 벨기에 갤러리도 참여합니다.

특히 펄램 갤러리는 중국, 나이지리아, 슬로바키아, 영국, 미국 출신의 다양한 예술가들을 소개합니다. 나이지리아 출신의 앨리미 아데웰((Alimi Adewale 1974)은 아프리카 경험을 소재로 창의적 작업을 하는 작가입니다. 전통적인 사실주의와 현대 추상화의 교차점을 탐구하는 최신작 ‘Figurative Fusion’ 시리즈를 통해 다양한 예술 요소를 조화롭게 선보이며 현대미술에 새로운 보여줍니다.

Dvir Gallery는 전통 사회 속 여성의 삶을 주제로 환상과 상상력을 통한 자유란 무엇인지 묻는 팔레스타인의 젊은 아티스트 아이샤 에 아라 (Aysha E Arar)의 개인전 부스를 선보입니다.

파리의 Cadet Capela 갤러리에서는 조르디 커윅(Jordy Ketwick) 의 작품을 선보입니다. 배제된 원근법과 생생한 구성으로 환상적이면서도 자서전적인 주제를 불멸로 만듭니다. 정물과 허영과 같은 회화의 고전적인 주제들을 다루며 꽃이나 담배와 같은 상반되는 의미를 가진 일상 속 요소들을 더하여 삶의 매력적이고 평범한 측면을 병치시킵니다.

도쿄의 코사쿠 카네치카 갤러리에서는 타쿠로 쿠와타 (Takuro Kuwata)의 도자작품들을 감상할 수 있습니다. 독보적인 작품으로 도자 예술의 가능성을 빠르게 확장해 온 작가로, 그의 현대적인 시각 언어는 가이라기(Kairagi)와 이시하제(Ishihaze)와 같은 전통적인 일본 도기 기술을 혁신적인 방식으로 활용하며 브뤼셀, 런던, 뉴욕 등에서 전 세계적으로 전시되고 국제적인 찬사를 받았습니다.

작품 감상과 구매 외에도 아트 오앤오의 주요 프로그램으로는 Talks and Discussions, VIP Programs, Special Events 등이 있습니다. Talks and Discussions는 관람객, 갤러리스트들이 모여 글로벌 아트 트렌드를 느끼고 교류할 수 있는 기회로, 페어 기간 동안 아트 전문가들이 직접 기획한 토크와 강연을 제공합니다.
