STAYC, the dynamic girl group celebrated for their infectious energy, has once again graced the music scene with their trademark flair in their latest EP, aptly titled "Teenfresh." This invigorating release marks a continuation of their distinctive sound that seamlessly blends teenage spirit with a fresh musical perspective.
Heralding back to their 2020 debut, the term "Teenfresh" encapsulates the essence of STAYC's vibrant and youthful signature music. As the EP's title suggests, the group has evolved their musical formula to craft an immersive "Teenfresh" experience, resonating with positive energy and an array of unique colors, as emphasized by the members themselves.
Speaking at a press conference held at Ilchi Art Hall in Gangnam District, southern Seoul, the group shared insights into their latest offering. "Our biggest strength is in our honesty," mentioned Sieun, one of the members. She added, "We have our strong ambitions which I think is our unique message in STAYC's genre 'Teenfresh.' Just looking at STAYC will put a smile on our fans' faces."
J, the youngest member of the group, elaborated on the EP's diverse tracks, noting that compared to their previous album, this release injects a refreshing burst of energy. "Bubble," the lead track, epitomizes this newfound vitality, serving as a buoyant anthem that aims to burst the bubble of unwarranted negativity. The EP boasts a mix of styles, from the hip-hop-infused "Not Like You" with its robust bass to the comforting R&B tones of "I Wanna Do." Additionally, "Be Mine," a vivid Y2K-inspired track, transports listeners to the vibrant world of teenage dreams. The album also features two variations of the lead track, "Bubble."
STAYC's prior single, "Teddy Bear," garnered significant acclaim, propelling them to new heights with chart-topping success and enthusiastic fan reception. However, rather than feeling pressured by their past achievements, the group remains steadfast in their belief that the outcome is rooted in their collective effort and dedication.
"The English version is a special track that we dedicate to our overseas SWITH fans who send us unwavering support," Yoon, another member, remarked about the two variations of "Bubble" featured in the EP. The group is gearing up for their inaugural world tour, aptly named "Teenfresh," which will kick off in Seoul in late September and span 10 cities across the globe until February next year.
As the members expressed their challenges and inspirations behind the English versions of their songs, they revealed their commitment to offering a seamless connection with international audiences. The "Sped Up English Ver." not only captures the spirit of their music but also provides an engaging and uplifting experience for listeners.
With the release of "Teenfresh," STAYC invites fans and music enthusiasts alike to immerse themselves in a soundscape that exudes summer festival vibes and youthful optimism, reminding us all of the transformative power of music.
