The sci-fi action film "Alienoid: Return to the Future," directed by Choi Dong-hoon, has been invited to two prominent international film festivals in Europe. Organized by CJ ENM, the film will participate in the Far East Film Festival (FEFF) in Udine, Italy, running from April 24 to May 2. FEFF, known for promoting Asian cinema in Europe, will feature 11 Korean titles, including recent hits like "12.12: The Day" and "Exhuma," alongside "Alienoid: Return to the Future."

The director of FEFF, Sabrina Baracetti, expressed optimism about the film's reception in the West, highlighting its integration of various genres such as science fiction, martial arts, mystery, comedy, drama, and action. Baracetti encouraged audiences to watch both parts of the "Alienoid" series for the best experience.

The plot of "Alienoid: Return to the Future" revolves around an android named Guard (Kim Woo-bin) and his human daughter Lee Ahn (Kim Tae-ri), who travel through time to the Goryeo Kingdom. Lee Ahn fights to wield a legendary divine sword against Taoist magicians after being stranded in the past for a decade following her father's disappearance.Despite high expectations, the first installment of the "Alienoid" series received a lukewarm response at the box office, selling just over 1.5 million tickets. The sequel aimed to surpass its predecessor with a faster-paced plot and larger action sequences but struggled to attract audiences, selling approximately 1.4 million tickets.
