South Korean actors Han So-hee and Ryu Joon-yeol have decided to end their relationship amidst public scrutiny surrounding their dating timeline and allegations of impropriety. The breakup was confirmed by Ryu's agency, C-JeS Studio, shortly after Han shared a photo on social media symbolizing liberation following the end of a relationship.

Han's agency, 9ato Entertainment, acknowledged the breakup, stating that the decision was made as both actors realized the importance of their professional roles over personal emotions. The agency also apologized for any mishandling of the situation and acknowledged that Han's communication approach had been flawed.

The controversy began when Han revealed on her blog in March that she and Ryu had started dating in early 2024, shortly after his breakup with singer and actor Hyeri in 2023. However, reports surfaced suggesting that Ryu and Han had been acquainted since November of the previous year, raising speculation about the timing of Ryu's breakup with Hyeri and his subsequent relationship with Han.

As accusations circulated, Han defended herself and Ryu on social media, asserting that she does not pursue individuals in relationships and emphasized her respect for others' partnerships. Meanwhile, Hyeri released a statement clarifying that she had not met Ryu since November, the month mentioned by Han as the time of their breakup, although she did not specify the exact timing of their separation.

Despite the controversy, both Ryu and Han were rumored to be involved in director Han Jae-rim's upcoming project, "Delusion," an adaptation of a popular webtoon.
