A2O LITE has entered the top 10 of both Billboard global songs charts with its debut single “NEON.”
On the charts dated Oct. 31, the nine-member group’s first single debuted at No. 8 on the Billboard Global 200 and rose to No. 3 on Global Excl. US.
The latter result represents a 104-place increase from the previous week’s No. 107 position. “NEON” entered the Global 200 for the first time, about two weeks after its release on Oct. 13.
The song generated 25.9 million official streams and 12,000 digital sales worldwide during the Oct. 16–22 tracking period, according to data compiled by Luminate.
The Global 200 ranks songs using streaming and sales data from more than 200 territories, including the United States. Global Excl. US applies the same methodology but removes US activity from its calculation.
“NEON” also entered two Billboard Japan rankings. It placed No. 2 on Top User Generated Songs, which measures activity involving user-created videos on YouTube, and No. 5 on Japan Hot Shot Songs.
In South Korea, the track remained at No. 1 on Melon’s Top 100 for 13 consecutive days from Oct. 15 through Oct. 27. It also led both the Global K-pop Chart and Digital Chart in the Circle Chart rankings for the year’s 42nd tracking week.
A2O LITE has received four South Korean music programme trophies during its debut promotion. The group placed first on SBS Life’s “The Show,” MBC M’s “Show Champion,” Mnet’s “M Countdown” and SBS’ “Inkigayo.”
The “Inkigayo” result, secured 13 days after the group’s debut showcase, marked its first win on a terrestrial television music programme. The group achieved the result with a digital single rather than a physical album.
A2O LITE will continue promotional activities for “NEON” through music programmes and online content.
