The Seoul Tourism Organization is set to launch an innovative DJ event series called "Visit Seoul Club" that will blend K-pop music with the city's unique cultural spaces. The hybrid online-offline events are scheduled for September 28 and October 11, designed to showcase Seoul's vibrant nightlife scene while promoting the city's official tourism brand to both local residents and international visitors.
The first event will take place on Sunday, September 28, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Ewha Mart, an unconventional venue choice that highlights Seoul's authentic local culture. This quirky neighborhood supermarket is conveniently located just a two-minute walk from Anguk Station Exit 1 on Subway Line 3. Despite its modest exterior that resembles a typical community store, Ewha Mart will provide participants with an opportunity to experience Seoul's grassroots local scene, offering a refreshing alternative to conventional tourist attractions.
The second event is scheduled for October 11 at the Seoul Hiking Tourism Center in Samcheong-dong, a venue that showcases Korea's traditional architecture. This location features a beautiful hanok structure situated at the base of Mount Bukak, an area renowned for its cultural significance and picturesque walking trails. The historic setting will allow visitors to immerse themselves in Seoul's architectural heritage while enjoying a tranquil escape from the city's bustling atmosphere.
The musical centerpiece of both events will feature K-pop remix DJ sets performed by Seoul Community Radio (SCR), a group that has gained international recognition following their successful performance at SXSW London, one of Europe's most prestigious music festivals. SCR has established itself as an influential online radio station, creative hub, and event production company known for its groundbreaking programming initiatives. The organization has made headlines for hosting unique events such as the world's first rave in a Korean sauna and has collaborated with major global brands including Nike and Umbro.
Beyond the musical performances, attendees can look forward to interactive elements including on-site raffles with various prizes and complimentary beverages such as Red Bull and cold brew coffee. The events will also feature a global livestream component, broadcasting simultaneously on Visit Seoul's official YouTube channel and SCR's channels. This digital aspect aims to introduce Seoul's dynamic youth culture and creative energy to K-pop fans and potential tourists around the world.
"These events, held in distinctive Seoul venues such as a supermarket and a hanok, will deliver unforgettable experiences during autumn, celebrating K-pop with everyone," said Gil Ki-yeon, CEO of Seoul Tourism Organization. The initiative represents Seoul's commitment to promoting unconventional tourism experiences that highlight both modern and traditional aspects of the city's cultural landscape.
