The Walt Disney Company Korea has announced that "Inside Out 2," the sequel to the 2015 Pixar Studios hit animation "Inside Out," is scheduled to open in Korea next summer.

The original film, "Inside Out," released in 2015, explores the emotions of a young girl named Riley as she undergoes a significant life change, moving from Minnesota to San Francisco. The narrative delves into the experiences of Riley's five emotions — Fear, Anger, Joy, Disgust, and Sadness — as they navigate the challenges of her new life. The characters Joy and Sadness embark on an internal journey within Riley's mind.

"Inside Out" received the Best Animation Feature at the 88th Academy Awards and garnered widespread acclaim, attracting 4.97 million viewers in Korea alone. The film achieved a global box office gross of $858.8 million.

The sequel, "Inside Out 2," will see the return of Amy Poehler and Phyllis Smith as the voices of Joy and Sadness. Lewis Black will reprise his role as Anger, while Tony Hale replaces Bill Hader as Fear, and Liza Lapira takes over from Mindy Kaling as Disgust. Maya Hawke joins the cast as the voice of a new character, Anxiety.

Directed by Kelsey Mann in his feature directorial debut, "Inside Out 2" continues the emotional and imaginative journey initiated by its predecessor.
