Reports indicate that singer G-Dragon has shaved his entire body, excluding his head, ahead of facing allegations of illegal drug use. The police suspect this action may be an attempt to evade a detailed drug test before appearing for questioning.

G-Dragon voluntarily visited the Incheon Nonhyun police station on Monday and underwent a rapid urine test, which yielded negative results. Rapid drug tests can detect substances within a 10-day window.

Efforts to obtain hair samples for a more comprehensive test were thwarted as the singer had shaved his body. G-Dragon claimed this was part of his regular grooming routine and not an effort to influence the drug test results.

In addition to hair samples from his head, the police collected fingernail samples for a more extensive examination. Fingernail tests have a detection period of up to six months and can screen for a broader range of drugs.

Hair tests, with a detection period of up to a year depending on hair length, may be less effective for individuals who frequently dye or bleach their hair, such as G-Dragon.

This incident echoes previous cases where celebrities, like singer and actor Park Yoo-chun in 2019, have shaved their bodies before police investigations related to alleged drug use. The police plan to expand their investigation into G-Dragon and summon him again after receiving the detailed drug test results.

G-Dragon, a member of the boy band Big Bang since 2006, faced allegations of marijuana use in 2011. His indictment was suspended after he confessed to unintentional inhalation of the substance during the prosecution's inquiry.
