Tomorrow X Together, the K-pop group under BigHit Music, has received platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ) for their third full-length album, "The Name Chapter: Freefall."

As of October, the album has shipped over 250,000 copies in Japan, leading to its platinum certification by the RIAJ. The association certifies music based on shipment figures, with platinum status awarded for surpassing 250,000 copies.

"The Name Chapter: Freefall," released on Oct. 13, marks the band's tenth album to be certified by the RIAJ. Previous accolades include platinum certifications for Japanese singles "Magic Hour" (2020), "Drama" (2020), and the EP "The Name Chapter: Temptation." The band's third Japanese single, "Good Boy Gone Bad" (2022), and second Japanese full-length album, "Sweet," have been certified as double platinum.

The album claimed the top spot on Japan's Oricon weekly album chart as of the week of Oct. 9, solidifying Tomorrow X Together's streak of nine consecutive albums reaching No. 1 on the chart. Additionally, the album secured the third position on the Billboard 200 albums chart, making the group the sole K-pop artist with three albums on the chart this year.

Debuting in 2019 under BigHit Music, Tomorrow X Together is recognized for its "storytelling" albums. Comprising five members – Soobin, Yeonjun, Beomgyu, Taehyun, and Hueningkai – the group released its debut single in Japan, "Magic Hour," in January 2020, shortly after its debut in Korea.

The band is set to hold encore concerts for its second world tour, "Act: Sweet Mirage," at the Gocheok Sky Dome in Guro District, western Seoul, on Dec. 2 and 3.
