In 2022, one of the most noteworthy artists in the Korean art, Huh Myoungwook's solo exhibition “OVERLAYING” is being held at BOONTHESHOP in Cheongdam, Seoul.

His works are various works based lacquer. Including painting, sculpture, crafts, furniture, etc. Looking closely at his work process, he proceeds by repeatedly layering lacquer on top of the work. Especially, He creates his own colors and piles up different colors of yesterday and today on top of his works.
Another meaning of his way is that “time” is piled up in layers in his works.

Entering the exhibition hall, People can see the children's sculptures placed in the center of the exhibition hall. Among them, the work wearing an atom mask reflects his childhood. In this work, he connects his childhood and present self through it, the being who soothed his childhood loneliness.
The characteristic of the exhibition is that part of his's studio has been moved to one side of the exhibition hall. Because of this, the audience can meet various tools used in his work process. And can imagine the world of his work more deeply. The exhibition method allows the audience to get closer to the artist beyond viewing the work.

He said, “I’m trying to say through my work that we need to deeply reflect on natural phenomena that things and people also experience.” in relation to this solo exhibition.
