Inje University is set to host a unique sign language performance on November 27 at 2 PM at the Baek Inje Memorial Library, aiming to bridge communication and understanding between people with and without disabilities.

The performance is led by Dadareum, a sign language performance team from the university's Department of Special Education. The group’s name, translating to "Reaching a world of diversity beyond differences," encapsulates the event's spirit of inclusivity and empathy.

During the event, 15 students will take the stage to deliver emotionally resonant renditions of popular songs, including APT, Event Horizon, and Don’t Worry, Dear. The performances will be entirely in sign language, creating a powerful connection with the audience and fostering a deeper appreciation for accessibility and communication.

Unlike traditional concerts, this event is entirely student-driven, with participants managing every aspect of planning, production, and execution. The hands-on approach reflects the university's commitment to experiential learning and active participation in social initiatives.

The performance also builds on Inje University’s broader mission to uphold the value of life and inclusivity. It follows the First Inje Blood Donation Campaign, which was launched in September, demonstrating the university's dedication to meaningful community engagement.

Through this event, Inje University seeks not only to highlight the importance of sign language as a means of expression but also to emphasize its role in creating an inclusive society where communication barriers are minimized.

A university spokesperson stated, "We hope this performance will inspire audiences to reflect on the beauty of diversity and the importance of mutual understanding in building a more inclusive world."

The event is open to all and is expected to draw students, faculty, and members of the local community. By celebrating differences through art, Inje University is creating a platform for empathy, connection, and shared humanity.
