Cube Entertainment, the agency representing girl group (G)I-DLE, announced on April 29th that the group's official account on the popular Chinese video site Bilibili had surpassed one million followers, a first for a K-pop group on the platform.
On the (G)I-DLE channel on Bilibili, fans can find the group's album title songs, such as "Nxde" and "TOMBOY," as well as original content created by the members themselves.
This achievement comes after (G)I-DLE's success on "Wangyiyun Music," one of China's largest music platforms. The group's title tracks "TOMBOY" from their first full album and "Nxde" from their fifth mini album topped the annual chart in 2020, and they even secured second place on the platform's popularity ranking.
The six-member group, consisting of Miyeon, Minnie, Soojin, Soyeon, Yuqi, and Shuhua, is known for their unique sound and strong stage presence. They debuted in 2018 with the single "Latata" and have since released several hit songs such as "Oh my god" and "HANN."
(G)I-DLE's next release, their sixth mini album titled "I feel," is set to drop on May 15th. The album includes six songs, including the lead single "Queencard." The group is also planning a world tour, "I am FREE-TY," which kicks off with a two-day concert in Seoul on June 17th and 18th.
Fans of (G)I-DLE are thrilled with the group's continued success, especially in China where K-pop has become increasingly popular in recent years. The group's ability to connect with fans through various online platforms and their impressive performances have solidified their status as rising stars in the K-pop industry.
