'Condition of Sculpture', Gun-woo Shin holds a solo exhibition

Artist Gun-woo Shin holds a solo exhibition, 'Condition of Sculpture (조각의 조건)' in Seoul.

A sculpture in South Korea, Shin's solo exhibition will be held at the Kimsechoong Museum in Yongsan-gu, Seoul from the 5th until the 23rd.

Shin is an artist who presents his unique relief style at the border between sculpture and plane. He has implemented experimental sculptures through various media and methods and is receiving great attention in the art world.

His work reflects the narrative of the way and process of embodying and considering images in his work. He borrows symbols, signs, and repetitive narratives that appear in religion or mythology.

Recently, the artist have introduced the concept of '식(蝕): eclipse' as a means to express things that have no form but still exist. '식(蝕): eclipse' refers to the point where things with physical forms exist in reality and things that cannot be specifically embodied. In the exhibition, he used this device to replace it by shaping the invisible world.

Through the exhibition, the artist collectively gathered the experiments on the formations he did. Through his works, the audience can feel the thoughts of the sculpture that the artist has been agonizing over.

A total of 18 artworks, including new works, sculptures, and flat work, will be displayed in the exhibition.
