Pearl Abyss, led by CEO Huh Jin-young, announced on the 26th that it sponsored the “2024 Korea Game Week” in Hanoi, Vietnam, held from November 23 to 24. This marks the second consecutive year the company has supported the event, Vietnam’s largest Korean game showcase.
The event, co-hosted by the Game Culture Foundation, the Korean Cultural Center in Vietnam, and Hanoi National University, aims to foster collaborative development in the gaming industry and culture between Korea and Vietnam. This year’s Korea Game Week featured a range of programs, including business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-consumer (B2C) initiatives, as well as various cultural exchange activities.
Pearl Abyss emphasized its commitment to promoting Korean games and K-culture through its sponsorship. The event included diverse activities tailored to engage Vietnam’s younger demographic, such as a game development contest with an exhibition of winning entries, a Korea-Vietnam university student e-sports exchange, industry talk shows, and interactive game experience zones.
The company also collaborated with the Game Culture Foundation to enhance its impact on the global gaming scene. Beyond Korea Game Week, Pearl Abyss supported exhibitions at Gamescom Asia 2024 and assisted in showcasing outstanding Korean indie games at BitSummit 2024.
The Korea Game Week demonstrates Pearl Abyss’ strategic focus on expanding the presence of Korean games and culture internationally. It also underscores the company’s role in fostering innovation and cultural connections in the rapidly evolving global gaming industry.
