Espace Art Absolument is presenting "MEN," a compelling new photography exhibition running through January 3rd, 2026, as part of the prestigious PhotoSaintGermain festival. The exhibition brings together works from seven distinguished artists spanning multiple generations and diverse cultural backgrounds, offering visitors a comprehensive exploration of masculinity through the lens of contemporary photography.
The featured artists include renowned photographers Robert Mapplethorpe, Andres Serrano, Louis Jammes, Tomasz Machciński, David Meskhi, Pierre-Élie de Pibrac, and Felipe Romero Beltrán. Their collective works, created between the 1980s and the present day, present a multifaceted interpretation of male identity and representation. The exhibition serves as a thoughtful counterpart to last year's "Elles d'abord !" exhibition, whose second chapter was devoted exclusively to women photographers.
"MEN" continues the gallery's ongoing examination of gender representations in contemporary photography, tackling complex themes including identity construction, cultural influences, power dynamics, and performative aspects of masculinity. The curated selection of photographs spans four decades, providing visitors with both historical context and contemporary perspectives on how male identity has been captured and interpreted through the photographic medium.
The exhibition is located at Espace Art Absolument, situated at 1 rue Monsieur le Prince in Paris's 6th arrondissement. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 11am to 7pm. Visitors can find additional information about the exhibition on the gallery's website at www.artabsolument.com and learn more about the PhotoSaintGermain festival at https://www.photosaintgermain.com/.
