Hallyu Con, the United Kingdom's premier Korean Wave celebration, will return to London on Friday, November 21, 2025, marking its fifth anniversary with an expanded convention-style event. The milestone celebration will showcase Korean culture through immersive experiences and interactive installations under the theme "5 Years of Hallyu Con – Past, Present, Future."
The event is hosted by The Korean Wave Communities, which includes MyWave Collective, Radio Kimchi UK, and The K-Way, with support from the Korean Cultural Centre UK (KCCUK). This year's edition promises to be a landmark celebration of culture, creativity, and community, highlighting both traditional Korean heritage and contemporary cultural influences.
Attendees will have access to a diverse range of activities designed to provide hands-on cultural experiences. The event will feature hanbok try-on sessions where visitors can wear traditional Korean clothing and take photos in a Korean-style photo zone. Participants can also engage in Korean calligraphy workshops to create customized bookmarks in the traditional 'Seoye' art style, and explore Korean arts and crafts through interactive workshops.
The festival will showcase K-beauty and fashion through skincare demonstrations and interactive sessions. Live performances throughout the day will provide entertainment, while authentic Korean food and beverages will be available from various vendors. The event will also include games and challenges where participants can win exclusive prizes.
A key feature of Hallyu Con 2025 will be Hallyu Lane, a curated marketplace featuring K-related brands, food, and lifestyle products. This marketplace will offer visitors the opportunity to purchase authentic Korean items and discover new brands within the Korean Wave ecosystem.
Beyond entertainment, the event aims to foster meaningful dialogue about cultural exchange and the evolving role of Korean culture in the UK and Europe. Visitors can participate in thought-provoking panel discussions, including the "Working in Hallyu" panel, where they can connect directly with creators, artists, and community leaders who are shaping the global K-culture landscape.
Over the past five years, Hallyu Con has established itself as a staple of the UK cultural calendar, reaching more than 10 million fans both online and in-person. The platform was founded in late 2019 by a diverse group of young women who wanted to create a more accessible and safe environment for UK-based Korean culture enthusiasts. The founders, who are passionate Korean Wave enthusiasts themselves, recognized the need for more opportunities to engage with Korean culture in the UK.
The government-recognized platform has grown significantly since its inception, providing a safe space where Korean culture enthusiasts and K-Pop fans can engage with immersive events while sharing experiences and connecting with each other. This milestone edition will highlight the continued growth of the Korean Wave while strengthening cultural ties between Korea and the United Kingdom.
