RM, the leader of the globally renowned K-pop group BTS, recently shared his thoughts on the group’s 11th debut anniversary and the recent military discharge of bandmate Jin. In a post on Weverse, an online fan community, RM reflected on the significant milestones and the emotional reunion with his fellow members.

"Jin was finally discharged three days ago," RM noted in his post on Saturday. He mentioned that while he had intended to enjoy some leisure time by playing the saxophone, the occasion was marked by mixed emotions. Jin, BTS' eldest member, completed his 18-month military service and was discharged last Wednesday. Although no official event was held due to safety concerns, RM, J-Hope, V, Jimin, and Jungkook, visited Jin to show their support, with only Suga absent as he continues his alternative service as a social worker.

To celebrate Jin’s discharge, RM playfully performed the group’s hit song "Dynamite" on his saxophone.

Reflecting on his own military service, RM commented on how time seemed to flow differently during his break. He expressed a sense of emptiness but also joy in reuniting with his bandmates after a long time, sharing heartfelt conversations and a drink. "I really missed these people," he said, recalling how he would often check in on them during their time apart.

RM noted that Jin frequently mentioned missing the group and predicted that the others would feel the same. Now, living apart in Gangwon Province, RM stated he deeply understood Jin's sentiments. The reunion made RM realize the unchanged bond among the members and reaffirmed his sense of belonging.

In his message to BTS' dedicated fans, known as ARMYs, RM expressed his gratitude and optimism for the group's future. "Just knowing that so many people still wait for us and love us is enough," he wrote, adding that he would spend each day thinking of his bandmates and their fans. He concluded with an affectionate message, "I love you. Thank you. Let's look forward to the next early summer."

RM is scheduled to complete his military service in June of next year. Following Jin's discharge, J-Hope is set to complete his service in October, with the remaining members finishing by next June. BTS plans to resume group activities once all members have fulfilled their military obligations.

Meanwhile, Jin made his first official public appearance since his discharge during the 2024 FESTA event, celebrating BTS' 11th anniversary. He is also expected to release his first solo album later this year.
