Amid growing anticipation, Yuju, acclaimed as the lead vocalist of the esteemed girl group Gfriend, is set to unveil a new collaborative composition titled "Rewind" this Wednesday, as confirmed by her agency Konnect Entertainment on Friday.
Renowned for her soulful and resonant vocal prowess, Yuju's musical journey takes an exciting turn with "Rewind," which marks the fourth installment in the +memory project—a collaborative series of releases devised to evoke nostalgia and infuse daily experiences with fresh emotions, as elucidated by the agency.
This innovative series commenced with "Nostalgia" in March, a melodic endeavor by singer-songwriter Woody. Subsequently, "Whale," released in July by Hui from the acclaimed boy band Pentagon, followed by the evocative "Rain Drive," unveiled on August 2 and contributed by the talented singer-songwriter Rothy.
"Rewind" promises a sonic fusion, featuring captivating grooves intertwined with layered pluck sounds. The medium-tempo track is intricately woven from the moombahton and trap genres, a testament to Yuju's musical versatility and willingness to explore novel soundscapes.
Debuting in 2015 as the main vocalist of GFriend, Yuju made an indelible mark with iconic tracks such as "Rough" (2016), "Navillera" (2016), "Fingertip" (2017), and "MAGO" (2020). Following the conclusion of the girl group's exclusive contract with Source Music in May 2021, Yuju embarked on a solo journey, releasing her debut solo EP in January 2022. Her artistic range extends to collaborations as well, most notably her poignant duet with rapper Loco, "Spring is Gone by Chance" (2015).
As the music industry eagerly anticipates the unveiling of "Rewind," Yuju's upcoming release promises to continue her legacy of emotive and captivating compositions, offering audiences yet another reason to celebrate her artistic ingenuity.
