SM Entertainment revealed through the global fandom platform Weverse that Renjun of NCT Dream will be taking a hiatus due to health issues.
The decision comes after Renjun recently visited the hospital due to poor physical condition and symptoms of anxiety, prompting medical advice for sufficient stability and rest.
Renjun's absence was noted at a scheduled fan signing event, with only six members set to appear at the group's upcoming concert, "The Dream Show 3: Dream()scape."
Renjun's public critique of abusive remarks about idol stars, received through private channels, has sparked conversation about the challenges faced by entertainers in managing their public and private lives.
NCT Dream, despite Renjun's hiatus, plans to continue their activities, including performances at events like Japan's "Summer Sonic 2024" music festival.
