Lim Yunchan expressed his long-standing aspiration to become a pianist with foundational skills, citing influences such as Alfred Cortot, Ignaz Friedman, and Sergio Fiorentino, who played Chopin etudes and served as significant inspirations throughout his career. Signing a contract with Decca Classics in October, Lim described the opportunity to record and publish Chopin's etudes with Decca as a great honor.

The British record label, Decca Classics, established in 1929 and part of Universal Music, has been known for its historical contributions to the music industry.

Lim Yunchan is scheduled to make his Carnegie Hall debut, presenting an all-Chopin program of etudes, on Wednesday (U.S. time).
