K-pop girl group Weeekly has unveiled their fifth EP, "ColoRise," marking their return to the music scene after a hiatus of a year and seven months.
During a press conference in Seoul, Park So-eun of Weeekly expressed their desire to showcase their enhanced talents to fans who have eagerly awaited their return. The album reflects the group's readiness to explore various music genres.
Weeekly, consisting of six members, made their debut in June 2020 with their first EP, "We are," and introduced their catchphrase, "every day brings a new and special week," with each member representing a day of the week.
"ColoRise" encompasses six tracks, each exploring different music genres, and is led by the title track, "Vroom Vroom."
The new EP highlights Weeekly's more sophisticated and mellow musical style, aiming to captivate a wider audience.

The title track, "Vroom Vroom," conveys the group's pursuit of dreams and a fresh beginning, inviting listeners into a world where all aspirations come to fruition.
The song's choreography was crafted by the acclaimed team Lachica, known for their involvement in Mnet's "Street Women Fighter" dance competition show. The choreography embodies the group's free-spirited and confident approach with trendy and intuitive movements.
Weeekly's participation in Mnet's "Queendom Puzzle" survival program, where four members took part, further solidified their collaboration with the choreography team.
The music video for "Vroom Vroom" by Naive Production visually narrates Weeekly's journey as K-pop artists.
Notably, "ColoRise" includes unit songs for the first time since their debut. Lee Soo-jin, Monday, Park So-eun, and Zoa joined forces for the sidetrack "Sweet Dream," embracing an acoustic R&B genre. Meanwhile, Lee Jae-hee and Jihan collaborated on the sidetrack "A+," characterized by a dance-pop style.
Weeekly aspires to be a musical palette, with each member offering a unique musical color and personality, enabling them to express a wide spectrum of charms and styles.
