Nana Youngrong Kim, a renowned drag artist, returns to The Trinity Gallery in central Seoul with his solo exhibition, titled "NA, NA."
The photo exhibit is scheduled to run from November 2 to November 15 and features Kim in the roles of conceptual and artistic director. Collaborating with three other creatives – NOVV KIM, Yezoi Hwang, and Kim mumU – Kim brings his creative vision to life.
"NA, NA" serves as a journey into Kim's self-exploration, conveyed through the performative language of drag. The exhibition is divided into two distinct chapters: "The Persona Prism" and "NANA Character Energy." The title not only reflects the artist's alias but also incorporates the Korean word for "I" or "me."

In the first chapter, Kim merges the concepts of "persona," which is a central element in drag performance, and "prism" to underscore his expansive expressive energy. Here, he establishes his drag persona as an authentic representation of his own self, allowing his creative desires and fantasies to manifest with humor and creativity.
In the subsequent chapter, Kim transforms into a diverse array of characters drawn from various genres, spanning from noir aesthetics to "high teen," a pop culture aesthetic associated with high school and teenager imagery.
The exhibition serves as a static representation of Kim's live drag performances, offering visitors a glimpse into his multifaceted artistic identity.
Kim conveyed in his artist's note, "It's difficult to encapsulate my existence with a single word or sentence. I hope that visitors to this show will view these diverse portrayals of me and regard every one of them as a representation of myself."
