Seoul, South Korea - K-pop girl group LE SSERFIM denied accusations of plagiarism during a press event held at YES24 Live Hall in Gwangjin District on Monday. The allegations arose shortly before the group's comeback, with some internet users claiming that certain elements of their songs and singing styles resembled those of Spanish singer-songwriter Rosalia.
The group's leader, Kim Chae-won, emphasized that their songs and concepts feature their own stories and messages and should be viewed as their original creations. The group's management company, Source Music, has yet to issue an official statement regarding the accusations.

Despite the controversy, anticipation for LE SSERFIM's first full-length album, "UNFORGIVEN," has been high, with pre-orders exceeding 1.38 million as of Friday. The album features diverse genres ranging from hip-hop to Latin pop, showcasing the group's multi-faceted talents.
"UNFORGIVEN" is fronted by the lead track of the same name, blending hip-hop and funk rhythms. The album also features a collaboration with Grammy-winning American musician Nile Rodgers, who previously worked with prominent pop singers including Beyonce and Madonna. This marks Rodgers' first collaboration with a K-pop artist.
The album samples the main theme song from the 1966 film, "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly," written by Maestro Ennio Morricone, one of the greatest film composers in history. Producer Bang Si-hyuk's idea to sample the song was executed with the permission of Morricone's family.
LE SSERFIM, already one of the most successful rookie groups in the K-pop scene, has big ambitions for the future. Kim hopes that their track can rank first on music streaming charts, while Sakura wants to hold a world tour and meet fans across the globe.
"Between You, Me and the Lamppost," a song in the album, features lyrics written by all members of the group, with Huh Yun-jin participating in its production. The group's members express their desire to participate in the creative process of more tracks in the future.
With their record-breaking album release and collaborations with esteemed musicians, LE SSERFIM continues to pioneer their own path in the K-pop industry.
