The Korean supernatural film "Exhuma" has surpassed 10 million admissions, making it the first film released in 2024 to achieve this milestone. Distributed by Showbox, the movie reached the 10-million mark on Sunday morning, marking the 32nd day since its release on February 22nd. Directed by Jang Jae-hyun, "Exhuma" has maintained its position as the No. 1 film at the box office since its debut.
This accomplishment marks the first film to sell over 10 million tickets since "12.12: The Day," which reached the milestone on Christmas Eve the previous year. Additionally, "Exhuma" joins the ranks of 23 Korean films and 32 overall films in Korea to exceed 10 million admissions.

Featuring Choi Min-sik and Kim Go-eun, "Exhuma" follows the story of two shamans, a feng shui expert, and a mortician investigating mysterious occurrences affecting a wealthy family based in the United States. The narrative unfolds as they exhume the grave of the family's ancestor in a remote Korean village.
The film made its world premiere at the Berlin International Film Festival last month as part of its Forum section.
