SEOUL, June 21, (SayArt)- The Seoul Design Foundation, under the leadership of CEO Sai Gyeong-don, is collaborating with Art deFinance AG to organize an exhibition aimed at supporting the artistic endeavors of creators. Art de Finance AG, based in Switzerland and established in 2022, has signed an agreement with the foundation to provide support in promoting and marketing artists and creators.
The exhibition, titled "To The Future," will be held at DDP (Seoul Dongdaemun Design Plaza) alongside the opening day of the "Seoul Web 3.0 Festival (SWF2023)" on July 31. It will run for three weeks until August 20. This exhibition seeks to showcase the diverse perspectives of artists on future technology, drawing inspiration from the late media artist Nam June Paik's introduction of interactive media through satellites three decades ago, highlighting the themes of George Orwell's novel "1984."
The title "To The Future" captures the uncertainty surrounding the future while representing the adaptability and scalability of the creative process, as artists develop their works based on various thoughts and ideas.
The Seoul Design Foundation is currently inviting NFT artists to participate in the exhibition, with the application period open from June 20 (Tuesday) to June 30 (Friday). The selection process will involve connecting the foundation's new project, 'DDP 45133,' to recent technological trends and social issues such as 'Web 3.0,' 'Video Art,' 'Climate Crisis,' and 'One-person Media.' Artists and designers from both domestic and foreign backgrounds who possess the ability to plan and develop NFT works are eligible to apply. Detailed information can be found on the DDP Seoul Web 3.0 Festival website.
Eom Yoo-seop, the director of Art de Finance, expressed that this collaborative exhibition will establish a foundation and environment for artists to grow sustainably while discovering new talents and benefiting from PR opportunities. Gyeong-don Lee, the CEO of the Seoul Design Foundation, emphasized their active promotion of projects that merge art and technology with a focus on design, including the DDP 45133 project. He highlighted that this initiative will contribute to establishing DDP as a digital design platform.
