On Monday, GF Entertainment revealed that singer Bang Ye-dam has been appointed as the ambassador of the Korean Red Cross Youth (RCY), a non-profit organization dedicated to advocating for health care rights, education, social inclusion, and volunteerism. The RCY comprises individuals ranging from children to those in their early 20s.

Bang Ye-dam is set to actively promote the organization and its initiatives in his role as the RCY ambassador, according to statements from the Korean Red Cross. In a press release, Bang expressed his honor at being chosen for this role, acknowledging the global scope of the RCY, which engages youth volunteers across 192 countries.
The singer pledged to engage in sharing and volunteering activities alongside RCY members, emphasizing his commitment to contributing to the organization's mission.
Bang Ye-dam, known for his participation in the second season of the SBS audition show "K-pop Star" from 2011 to 2017, secured the runner-up position. After signing with YG Entertainment, he debuted as part of the boy band Treasure on August 7, 2020. In 2022, Bang departed from the band and YG Entertainment, subsequently signing an exclusive contract with GF Entertainment on August 24. His solo career commenced with the release of his first EP, "Only One," on November 23.
