The user expressed frustration, questioning whether such language was typical for Kim, emphasizing the financial investment made by fans to participate in the event. Kim's management company, WAKEONE Entertainment, promptly denied the allegations, vowing to employ various measures, including digital media forensics, to uncover the truth.
In a statement released on Saturday, WAKEONE emphasized that, after consulting Kim, officials, and interpreters, they found the accusations to be untrue. The company asserted its commitment to protecting the artist's reputation and warned of legal action against those spreading false information.
The controversy took a new turn when the user, who initially raised the allegations, posted again on Sunday. The user questioned the company's reliance on memories, asserting the presence of video evidence. Additionally, the user addressed false characterizations and urged an end to spreading untruths about their interaction with Kim.
Kim Ji-woong, a member of ZB1, emerged from the 2023 audition program "Boys Planet." Before joining ZB1, he was part of the disbanded boy group INX.
The unfolding situation highlights the challenges faced by K-pop idols in navigating controversies and underscores the importance of transparent communication between artists and fans.
