Jin, the eldest member of the globally renowned South Korean boy band BTS, is scheduled to be discharged from the military on June 12, 2024. The singer will mark his return with an offline fan gathering, as announced by Big Hit Music on Sunday.
Jin will make his first public appearance post-discharge at the "2024 Festa," an annual celebration commemorating BTS’s debut, held at the Seoul Jamsil Sports Complex. The event's first segment, titled "Jin's Greeting," will feature a hugging session with 1,000 fans. The latter part will showcase various aspects of Jin's career and personality. For those unable to attend in person, the second part of the event will be live-streamed on Weverse, available to fan club members.
The "2024 Festa" will host a variety of activities from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the Seoul Jamsil Sports Complex, including upcycling accessory workshops and a BTS song lyrics lottery.
Jin had previously committed to attending this year’s Festa, leaving a message through Weverse during last year's event.
Additional events are planned for the two-week festival, including "Bang Bang Con," a free online streaming of BTS's past concerts on Saturday. Other scheduled content, hinted at with icons of a camera film and music, will be revealed on Wednesday and Friday, generating anticipation among fans.
Jin enlisted in the military in December 2022, serving as an assistant instructor at a front-line infantry division boot camp in Yeoncheon, Gyeonggi Province. All seven BTS members are currently fulfilling their mandatory military service.
