Launching this Friday, the three-day festival will grace the Rossmarkt Square in Frankfurt, weaving its narrative into the fabric of the esteemed Museum Embankment Festival, colloquially known as Museumsufer Fest. This revered annual art and culture celebration in Germany draws a staggering three million attendees each year.

Named "Your Korea Festival," the tourism event will spotlight an array of engaging promotional booths, co-crafted by local Korean governments and private tourism agencies.

The festivities promise a dynamic immersion into the realms of K-pop, K-beauty, K-food, and K-travel. Festival-goers can relish the delights of Korean bunsik (fast food) and makgeolli, while indulging in illuminating skincare and makeup demonstrations. Among the festival's highlights, K-pop random play dance sessions will pulse through on Saturday, followed by an invigorating 90-minute K-pop dance class scheduled for Sunday.

Amid the festival's vibrant tapestry, Korea's iconic landmarks and must-visit destinations, meticulously curated by the Korea Tourism Organization, will assume a central spotlight, granting visitors a glimpse into the nation's rich heritage.

Taking inspiration from Germany's cultural phenomenon of a "gap year"—a period encouraged between high school graduation and college entry that allows students to explore social activities and travels while contemplating future career paths—the festival spotlights a special focus on gap year tourism products. Crafted to harmoniously intertwine with educational journeys for foreign students, this novel tourism package is tailored to offer enticing travel opportunities, according to the Korea Tourism Organization.

In the wake of the pandemic, Germany has made impressive strides in resuming international flights within European nations, notes Eun Yu-ri, the head of the Korea Tourism Organization's Frankfurt branch. Eun underscores the organization's commitment to designing bespoke travel destination programs for German tourists, aligning with the burgeoning interest in all facets of K-culture. As cultural exchange takes center stage this weekend, the festival stands as a testament to the enduring ties that bind these two nations, weaving a vibrant tapestry of shared experiences and exploration.
