South Korean K-pop boy group Kingdom made their comeback with their 7th EP, "History Of Kingdom: Part. VII. Jahan."

The album encountered difficulties before its official release when the 70,000 pre-made copies of the album had to be discarded and redesigned due to concerns over its resemblance to the Quran.

The album cover's design sparked backlash from fans when the group's agency, GF Entertainment, unveiled it for pre-orders, originally scheduled to begin on September 21.

Dann, the leader of Kingdom, publicly acknowledged the issue and expressed the group's respect for people of the Muslim faith, while apologizing for their lack of knowledge about the religion. He pledged to exercise greater caution in their public presentations.

Kingdom's 7th EP focuses on member Jahan, who represents the kingdom of the Sun within the group of seven. Each member symbolizes a different type of kingdom.

The album features songs with catchy hooks, emphasizing a more masculine image with powerful and fast tempo beats compared to their previous releases, according to Dann.

During a press conference in Seoul, the group performed the title track, "Coup d’Etat," for the first time, showcasing powerful choreography.

The title track offers an addictive hook and features repetitive yet catchy choreography. It narrates a storyline where a dark force attempts to seize control of the kingdom of the Sun, prompting Jahan and the other six kings to unite and fight to regain control.

The group introduced a highlight dance move that resembles summoning a genie from a magic lamp, as explained by Arthur of Kingdom.

The music video for the title track was filmed in various locations in India, including a desert, which presented challenges during the shoot but contributed to the video's striking visual appeal, as mentioned by Ivan.

Kingdom, which debuted in February 2021, gained international recognition with their 4th EP, "History Of Kingdom: Part IV. Dann." The album's success led the group to rank in the top five on Amazon Music charts and make multiple appearances on Billboard's World Digital Song Sales chart.
