The 15th edition of the Melon Music Awards, MMA2023, one of South Korea's prominent music award shows, is scheduled to occur on December 2, according to the event's organizer, Melon, a music streaming company under Kakao Entertainment.
The awards ceremony will be hosted at the Inspire Arena, a newly established concert venue situated on Yeongjongdo, Incheon. The event, themed "K-pop Changes the World," will launch its promotions on October 27 with a teaser video. Voting for the top 10 artists award and other competitive categories will commence in the following month.

A new category, the "millions top 10 award," has been introduced this year to recognize the expanding impact of K-pop. It will nominate 30 top albums that have achieved sales of over one million copies within 24 hours of their release, with 10 winners selected through public voting.
The "best music style award" has also been revamped to incorporate fan votes, highlighting artists who have contributed to the diversity of pop music by introducing their unique genre and style.
The upcoming event will be the inaugural festival to be held at the Inspire Arena, a multi-purpose concert venue within the Inspire Entertainment Resort, capable of accommodating up to 15,000 spectators.
The Melon Music Awards originated in 2005 as an online event and has since evolved into one of South Korea's major music ceremonies, featuring both online and offline components. Last year's edition, held on November 25, 2022, at the Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul, marked the return of the in-person ceremony after a two-year hiatus.
