SEOUL — K-pop girl group Ive has cited "unpredictability" as its musical charm during a press conference on Monday to mark the release of their first studio album, titled "I've Ive." The group skyrocketed to stardom with their debut single "Eleven" in December 2021 and rose to the top of the charts with their follow-up hits "Love Dive," "After Like," and "Kitsch."
With three number-one singles under their belt, Ive made history last year by receiving both a rookie award and the top honor for K-pop artists in various year-end music awards ceremonies.

During the press conference, the band members discussed their unique approach to music. "We do songs of diverse genres without being restricted to one genre, while giving variations to our voices and bringing different feelings whenever we record songs," said member Liz.
Leader An Yujin expressed gratitude for the love the group has received so far and hopes that people will love their first studio album. "It's an album that can best represent the identity of Ive. It carries a message that we should not be afraid of the rising and falling of life, and even enjoy them based on confidence and self-love that comes to mind when you think of Ive."
The album's lead track, "I Am," features addictive synthesizer sounds and the members' explosive singing skills. The music video emphasizes the contrast between rising and falling and delivers a message about living with confidence.
Throughout their songs, Ive has explored the theme of self-love, and the new album explores independent life without any involvement of romantic relationships, according to An. "Please pay attention to this difference," she added.
When asked about what makes the group feel confident all the time, Jang Wonyoung replied, "I think confidence follows if you believe in and love yourself. I hope we could have a positive influence on all listeners."
The album, which consists of 11 tracks, including the prereleased hit song "Kitsch," is now available on major streaming platforms.
