In a significant recognition, Jungkook from the renowned K-pop group BTS has secured a spot on The Hollywood Reporter’s esteemed Platinum Player power list, an inaugural selection honoring 25 influential artists from around the world. He stands as the lone K-pop artist on this prestigious list, alongside other global pop music icons including Beyoncé, Drake, and Taylor Swift.
The Hollywood Reporter highlighted Jungkook's seamless transition from being an integral part of BTS to embarking on his solo journey, marking a milestone with his debut single “Seven,” released in July. This achievement was further underscored as the song, featuring U.S. rapper Latto, soared to the top of Billboard’s Hot 100 singles chart shortly after its release and earned the coveted MTV Video Music Awards’ Song of the Summer.
Acknowledging BTS's temporary pause in group activities due to mandatory military service obligations, The Hollywood Reporter emphasized Jungkook's continued success, describing how he has been enjoying chart-topping triumphs with the electrifying hit “Seven.” At present, three BTS members—Jin, J-Hope, and Suga—have commenced their military service, while RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook are yet to initiate theirs.
Additionally, HYBE, the group's parent company, confirmed that all seven members recently renewed their exclusive contracts with their current agency, BigHit Music, under HYBE's umbrella. The company expressed hope for a BTS reunion post-2025, once all members complete their military duties, reiterating their unwavering commitment to the group's future endeavors.
