Team Falcons Triumphs at 2025 OWCS Asia Playoffs, Set for Global Challenge in Hangzhou

The 2025 Overwatch Champions Series (OWCS) Asia Stage 1 playoffs concluded successfully on March 16, 2025, with Team Falcons emerging as the champion. The tournament, which began on March 6, saw the top teams from Korea, Japan, and the Pacific region compete fiercely for the title. A total of 8 teams participated, including Crazy Raccoon, Zeta Division, Team Falcons, and Team WAY from Korea, VAREL and VortexWolf from Japan, and 99DIVINE and MFC from the Pacific region.

Following intense competition during the group stages, Crazy Raccoon, Zeta Division, Team Falcons, and Team WAY advanced to the playoffs. Over the course of the weekend from March 14 to 16, these teams battled for supremacy, with Team Falcons securing the championship after a thrilling final match. Their victory places them as the top team in the Asia region, marking a significant achievement for the team.

Team Falcons' coach, Kim Beomhun, expressed his excitement after the win, saying, "We are extremely pleased to win the first OWCS Asia Final of the season. We are determined to prove that Team Falcons is the best in the world by winning the upcoming international event, the OWCS Champions Clash, in Hangzhou this April."

As the champions of the OWCS Asia Stage 1 playoffs, Team Falcons, along with the runner-up Crazy Raccoon, will compete in the first international tournament of the 2025 season, the OWCS Champions Clash. This prestigious event will take place from April 18 to 20 in Hangzhou, China, where the top teams from North America, Europe, and China will compete for the global championship title. The matches will be streamed live with Korean commentary on the Overwatch Esports SOOP channel.

In addition to the competitive success, the OWCS Asia Stage 1 playoffs also achieved a remarkable milestone in fan engagement. Tickets for the event sold out within just one minute of becoming available, with 1,500 seats (500 per day) for the weekend matches fully booked. This achievement marks the 12th consecutive sellout for OWCS Korea and Asia offline events, underscoring the strong popularity and support for Overwatch esports in the region.
