The city of Lons-le-Saunier is inviting residents to participate in selecting a new public art installation as part of its ongoing initiative to bring art into public spaces. Citizens can now vote to choose their preferred mural design from proposals submitted by four different artists for a wall located at the entrance of Rue des Salines.
For several years, the city of Lons-le-Saunier has been actively commissioning painted murals to integrate artistic expression throughout its public areas. The current project represents the latest effort in this cultural initiative, giving community members a direct voice in shaping their urban artistic landscape.
Each of the four proposed artworks tells a unique story, designed to touch, amaze, or surprise viewers in different ways. The participating artists developed their concepts based on specific guidelines that included complete creative freedom in theme selection, incorporation of connections to local history, culture, and heritage of Lons-le-Saunier, and thoughtful integration of the artwork within its immediate environment.
The voting period is scheduled from Wednesday, October 15 at 12:00 PM through Monday, November 3 at 12:00 PM, with results to be announced on November 6. The artwork that receives the most votes will be painted on this emblematic wall in the city.
Voters can choose from five options: Option 1 features "Vuitton Decors," Option 2 presents "Lucy Lucy," Option 3 offers "Vuitton Decors 2," Option 4 showcases "Pink," and Option 5 displays "Star97." The selection process allows residents to directly influence which artistic vision will become a permanent part of their community's cultural landscape.
