Korean American rapper San E has been booked by police on charges of assault following an incident in a park in Seoul last month, officials confirmed on Monday. The 39-year-old artist, whose real name is Jung San, is alleged to have used his mobile phone to strike a passerby on July 28 at the entrance of a park in Seoul's Mapo district.
The confrontation reportedly began when San E instructed the passerby to properly place a bicycle. The altercation escalated, leading to accusations of violence. Authorities are investigating the incident as a possible two-way assault and have also booked the pedestrian on similar charges.
The passerby has reportedly sustained a cut around the eye and damage to their teeth. However, discrepancies in the accounts provided by both parties have complicated the investigation.
