Korean Celebrities Kick Off 2024 with Generous Donations

Renowned singer-songwriter IU, under her fan club name "IUUaena," donated 200 million won ($154,000) to organizations supporting underprivileged households, including the Korea Association of Senior Welfare Centers, Korea National Association of Child Welfare, Korean Unwed Mothers Families Association, and Korea Association of Welfare Institutions for Persons with Disabilities.

Actor Kim Woo-bin contributed 100 million won to the Asan Medical Center, aiming to support patients from economically challenged backgrounds. He had previously sent Christmas presents to 200 children with cancer at the same medical center.

Rapper DinDin made a donation of 10 million won to the Korean Red Cross, specifically to aid young individuals transitioning out of group homes and preparing for adult life.

TV personality Kim Na-young directed a donation of 100 million won to The Beautiful Foundation, sourced from profits generated by her YouTube channel, nofilter TV. The funds are designated to support single mothers.

Singer HYNN, also known as Park Hye-won, donated 1,300 coal briquettes to the Incheon Yeontan Bank, symbolizing a gesture of assistance during the winter season.

NCT Dream's fan club, NCTzen, contributed 10 million won to the organization Hope Joyagdol, focusing on supporting child victims of abuse and aiding underprivileged households. The donation was made jointly in the name of Park Ji-sung, the full name of NCT Dream's Jisung, and under the band's name.

The fans expressed the intention behind the donation, stating, "We decided to donate to spread the hearts of the people who gave love to the seven members of the band. We hope that even though it is small, this will be of help to those in need."
