The local Adult Education Center (VHS) is offering a comprehensive photography fundamentals course designed to teach participants the essential technical skills needed to create professional-quality photographs rather than simple snapshots. This compact but thorough course covers all the critical aspects of photography, from basic camera operations to advanced composition techniques.
The curriculum focuses on teaching participants the technical foundations of photography, including aperture settings, shutter speed control, and ISO adjustments. Students will also learn about the effects and applications of different focal lengths and how these technical elements work together to create compelling images. The course emphasizes hands-on learning, allowing participants to immediately apply the theoretical knowledge they gain during instruction.
The program consists of three evening sessions scheduled for Tuesdays on November 25, December 2, and December 9, running from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the VHS facility located at Upstallstr. 25. Additionally, there will be a dedicated practical session on Saturday, December 6, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the House of Encounter (Haus der Begegnung) on Jacobstraße 12, where students will put their newly acquired skills into practice in a real-world setting.
Participants are expected to have basic familiarity with camera operation before enrolling in the course. On the final day of instruction, students will participate in a group critique session where their photographs will be reviewed and discussed collectively, providing valuable feedback and learning opportunities from both instructors and fellow participants.
