Twenty-four amateur painters displayed 105 artworks during a three-day exhibition organized by the amateur painters' association Ding Dingue d'Arts in Villers-Bocage, Calvados. The event took place at the Richard-Lenoir center from October 3-5, 2025, attracting significant public attention throughout the weekend.
The exhibition featured diverse artistic styles and mediums, including watercolors, oil paintings, portraits, still lifes, and abstract works. Association president Michel Closmenil noted the strong attendance at Friday evening's opening ceremony on October 3, highlighting the community's enthusiasm for local amateur art. The variety of artistic expressions on display demonstrated the creative range and talent within the association's membership.
"We had 105 canvases exhibited by 24 amateur painters," Closmenil explained. "We have six new members in our association, and attendance at our workshop on Place de Gaulle is regular. Each of us finds this positive and creative atmosphere." The association has experienced growth this year, with new members joining the creative community and regular participation in workshop sessions.
Throughout 2025, the Ding Dingue d'Arts painters participated in various exhibitions and community activities beyond this main showcase. Their involvement included a month-long exhibition at Maison de Jeanne, creating a poster for the Villers-Bocage festival, and participating in the local associations forum. These activities demonstrate the group's active engagement with the broader community and their commitment to promoting amateur art in the Calvados region.
