The project marks a significant milestone as Hoodless celebrates 25 years of her design studio, showcasing her refined approach to interior design through carefully curated colors, textures, and transitional styling.
The transformation took several months to complete and represents more than just an aesthetic update. According to Hoodless, the renovation reflects her evolution both as a designer and as a person. "Fourteen years ago, we designed the house to be a joyful riot of bold hues, perfectly suited to the rhythm of young family life," Hoodless explained. "Now, it's been reimagined as a refined yet welcoming space, with deeper tones and richer textures, creating a sense of calm sophistication."
The inspiration for the renovation came from personal and familial evolution. As Hoodless's children have grown, the atmosphere of their home has evolved accordingly. "What once was a vibrant, energetic space filled with bold colors has now evolved into something more layered, sophisticated, and calming," she noted. The designer emphasized that the refresh wasn't about starting from scratch but rather building on what was already there to create a home that continues to reflect who they are as they change.
The living room serves as a stunning example of the home's new aesthetic direction. The sitting room has been delicately wrapped in Hoodless's own Pines of Kernow wallpaper, designed in collaboration with Adam Ellis Studio. This richly textured design anchors the space with depth and movement, bringing art into the room in the most natural way. Vintage pieces and elements create a more lived-in feel throughout the home, drawing in a contemporary atmosphere with an antique twist that makes the area feel both dramatic and inviting.

The kitchen cabinets and woodwork are painted in Papers & Paints Tyger Moth Black, creating a striking contrast when paired with bright red J39 Mogensen chairs and Sandberg Ofelia curtain fabric. Open shelving has been strategically incorporated throughout the kitchen to enhance the overall look while creating an industrial feel in certain corners and providing additional storage solutions.
The home's cloakroom demonstrates how dramatic color can elevate even the most functional spaces. Painted in Rose Uniacke's Thyme paint, the small space has been transformed into an intimate jewel-box. Hoodless's personal bedroom stands out as her favorite room in the entire house. "Painted in plaster pink, it's my sanctuary – calming, comforting, and completely personal. A place to retreat, recharge, and reflect – my own little space within the home," she revealed. The patterns and colors add personality to the bedroom through vibrant yet calming tones that enter the space in various ways, from carefully selected bedding to thoughtfully curated artwork.
In contrast to the master bedroom, Hoodless's daughter's room has been designed with a sleek moss green color scheme and built-in storage units, effectively transforming a loft conversion into a functional and aesthetically pleasing space. The designer wanted her daughter to grow with the room, combining elements of practicality, calm, and productivity while maintaining the home's overall design philosophy.
Color plays a central role throughout the transformation, with Hoodless explaining that deep, sophisticated hues like aubergine, burgundy, and forest green run through the main living spaces, creating a cocooning sense of calm. These darker tones are balanced by softer colors such as plaster pink in the master bedroom and moss green in the loft bedroom, ensuring that every room feels expressive yet soothing.
