A young couple of triathletes has transformed a small house on a charming dead-end street near São Paulo's iconic Ibirapuera Park into their dream home. The 33-year-old residents - he works in insurance and acts, while she runs her own business - specifically chose this location to live close to the park where they train regularly.
After purchasing the property, the couple commissioned RUA 141 Arquitetura, led by architect Mona Singal, to tackle the challenging renovation of the narrow 4x18-meter (approximately 13x59 feet) lot. The compact site presented unique design constraints that required creative architectural solutions to maximize the limited space.
The completed House MA spans 135 square meters (approximately 1,453 square feet) and was finished in 2025. The project incorporated products from numerous Brazilian manufacturers and artisans, including Na Rosembaum, Adriana Yazbek, Arte Fatos, Botteh, and Carvalho Movelaria, among many others, showcasing local craftsmanship and design.
The construction was handled by J.B. Construção, with photography by Fran Parente capturing the final results. The project demonstrates how thoughtful architecture can transform challenging urban sites into functional, beautiful homes that align with the residents' active lifestyle and location preferences.
The house represents a growing trend in São Paulo's urban development, where architects are finding innovative ways to maximize small lots in desirable neighborhoods. The proximity to Ibirapuera Park, one of the city's most important green spaces, made this location particularly attractive for the athletic couple who prioritize outdoor activities in their daily routine.
