A remarkable architectural transformation has earned recognition at the prestigious "Das goldene Haus 2025" (The Golden House 2025) competition, where a 1960s home was successfully converted into a modern multi-generational living space. The project brought together three generations of the Kühn family and showcased innovative design solutions that blend contemporary functionality with family-centered living.
The celebration of this architectural achievement brought together all key participants in the project. Among those who gathered to commemorate the award recognition were father Heinz Kühn, representing the older generation, and the building family consisting of Stephan and Sabrina Kühn along with their daughter Clara and mother Agnes Kühn. The architect duo Kerstin and André Lemmens, who spearheaded the innovative renovation, were also present at the recognition ceremony.
The project represents a growing trend in residential architecture where older homes are being reimagined to accommodate multiple generations under one roof. The transformation of this 1960s house demonstrates how thoughtful architectural intervention can breathe new life into existing structures while meeting the evolving needs of modern families. The architects successfully balanced preservation of the home's original character with contemporary design elements that enhance functionality and livability.
LBS regional manager Dennis Böhm also participated in the celebration, highlighting the financial institution's involvement in supporting innovative housing solutions. The recognition at "Das goldene Haus 2025" competition underscores the project's significance in contemporary residential architecture and its potential to inspire similar multi-generational housing solutions across Germany.
