Ronan Moro, a 33-year-old master stone sculptor originally from Brittany, has recently established his own stone carving company, RM Sculptures, in a building located in Beauzac. The skilled craftsman specializes in sculpture, engraving, funerary art, and decorative stonework, demonstrating versatility across all aspects of stone cutting and carving.
Moro, who has been residing in the Haute-Loire region for six years, brings 17 years of experience in the stoneworking profession to his new venture. For the past six years, he honed his skills working at Sarda in Yssingeaux before deciding to launch his independent business. His journey into stone carving began with an unexpected discovery during his vocational school years.
"I was initially interested in woodworking," Moro explained. "During vocational high school, we went to meet a friend of my father's who was a teacher and a Meilleur Ouvrier de France (Best Craftsman of France). There I discovered an oversized knife carved in stone. It was magnificent." This encounter inspired him to pursue a CAP (Certificate of Professional Aptitude) in stone cutting, a decision he has never regretted.
Interestingly, Moro's career choice reconnected him with a family tradition he was previously unaware of. "My grandfather was a marble worker," he revealed. "When we traced back our family tree, we discovered several ancestors who were granite workers." This hereditary connection to stonework seems to have naturally guided his professional path.
After years of investing in professional equipment and deepening his expertise in the craft, Moro felt ready to establish his own business. His workshop, located on Avenue Louis-Pasteur in Beauzac, serves as the base for his operations, though he also offers on-site services for clients who require work performed at their locations.
RM Sculptures offers a comprehensive range of services including custom stone cutting, personalized and modernized funerary art, and various decorative stonework projects. Moro's expertise extends to creating ornamental features such as moldings, alcoves, niches, lintel inscriptions, house numbering, wells, fountains, benches, barbecues, and sundials. This diverse portfolio demonstrates his ability to work on both traditional and contemporary stone projects.

His establishment in Beauzac represents not only a new business venture but also the continuation of centuries-old stoneworking traditions in the region.
