Jin of BTS has achieved a new personal best on the Billboard charts, solidifying his presence as a powerful solo artist.
According to Billboard’s official preview article published on May 26 (KST), Jin’s second solo mini album Echo debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 chart dated May 31. This marks the highest-ever ranking for Jin as a soloist on the chart, surpassing his previous album Happy, which peaked at No. 4 in November 2024.
Echo explores the theme of life’s diverse moments reverberating like echoes. With stories and emotions relatable to many, Jin delivers his message through a deeply personal lens, resonating with a wide global audience.
The seven-track album spans a variety of genres, including pop-punk, country rock, Brit rock, J-rock, alternative rock, and ballad pop. Jin is receiving praise for his nuanced vocals and emotional depth, showcasing his expanded musical range and artistic growth.
Earlier, Echo made waves by debuting at No. 63 on the UK Official Albums Chart Top 100 (for the chart dated May 23–29). This marks the first time Jin’s solo work has simultaneously charted on both the Billboard 200 and the UK Official Albums Chart, considered two of the most prestigious music rankings worldwide.
The album’s title track, “Don’t Say You Love Me,” is also gaining strong momentum. It soared to No. 2 on Spotify’s Daily Top Songs Global chart as of May 24. The single also ranked No. 58 on the UK Official Singles Chart Top 100, and claimed the No. 1 spot on three sub-charts: Single Downloads, Single Sales, and Physical Singles.
Jin is set to kick off his first-ever solo fan concert tour, #RUNSEOKJIN_EP.TOUR, with two shows on June 28–29 at the Goyang Sports Complex Auxiliary Stadium in South Korea. The tour will continue across nine cities, including Chiba and Osaka in Japan; Anaheim, Dallas, Tampa, and Newark in the U.S.; London, UK; and Amsterdam, Netherlands, totaling 18 shows worldwide.
