Artist Edeltraud Auth is currently displaying her captivating works in the foyer of Mediana Nursing Home on Rangstraße in Fulda, Germany. The exhibition, titled "Touch and Shine," features selected pieces that showcase luminous colors and magical depth through innovative use of epoxy resin techniques. Visitors can view the artwork during daytime hours without prior registration, with the exhibition running until November 23.
Auth discovered her passion for painting approximately twelve years ago, when what began as experimental curiosity quickly evolved into a deep artistic commitment. She has continuously expanded her artistic repertoire and refined her creative expression through numerous courses and continuing education programs. "The use of epoxy resin has particularly captivated me. The possibilities that this material offers fascinate me," the artist explains.
The artist learned the fundamentals of working with epoxy resin at an art academy in Baden-Württemberg. Since then, she has developed her own distinctive artistic language through her pronounced sensitivity to materials and their visual impact. She creates her own unique spatula compound from an individual mixture of marble flour, lime putty, additional ingredients, and solvent-free resins.
"Pictures often emerge spontaneously, guided by emotions, moods, and impressions," Auth says. She has set up a studio in her home where she works without time pressure, allowing some works to rest for weeks. When the right moment arrives, she refines each piece with meticulous precision until it feels harmonious to her. Sometimes she covers acrylic paintings with clear resin, while other times she incorporates color pigments directly into the viscous medium. This technique gives her paintings a glossy depth and almost magical surface effect with unique tactile qualities.
The "Touch and Shine" exhibition in the Mediana Nursing Home foyer invites visitors to immerse themselves in Auth's fascinating artistic world until November 23. The display showcases her mastery of color, structure, and creative energy, demonstrating how traditional painting techniques can be enhanced through innovative material applications to create contemporary works that engage multiple senses.
