The Pure Pop apartment, designed by Patrycja Suszek-Rączkowska, founder of POCO Design studio, represents a striking fusion of clean forms and vibrant colors. Spanning 75 square meters, this innovative space successfully accommodates two adults while combining the tranquility of everyday life with a bold, spirited design aesthetic. The project reinterprets urban minimalism by allowing simplicity and emotionality to coexist, creating an atmosphere of freedom and lightness through open interiors, flowing fabrics, and carefully selected forms.
The owners purchased the apartment on the secondary market and lived in it for some time without making any changes, allowing them to thoroughly understand the floor plan, natural lighting, and spatial limitations. When they approached POCO Design, they already had precise ideas about how the interior should function. The designer's challenge was to completely reimagine the layout, which had previously served a family with a child, transforming it into a space perfectly suited for a couple with clear divisions between living area, bedroom, dressing room, and bathroom.
The central feature of the apartment is the open living area that seamlessly connects the living room, kitchen, and dining room. Two sofas with contrasting forms and colors complete the interior layout, where a simple table and minimalist chairs play central roles. Nobonobo furniture with organic lines was positioned opposite a Danish BoConcept sofa, creating a coherent dialogue between Polish craftsmanship and Scandinavian style that defines the space's international aesthetic.
The corridor leading from the living room to the bedroom is painted in rich navy blue that extends across the ceiling, creating an atmospheric transitional space that sets the mood for the next room. The bedroom bursts with contrasts and colorful details, with its character emphasized by theatrical curtains that add drama to the space. A separate relaxation area features the Le Bambole chair by BB Italia, which serves as the room's focal point and provides a luxurious retreat within the private quarters.
In the bathroom, textural interplay takes center stage through the strategic use of three different shades of Mutina tiles in varying gloss levels, combined with a custom-made linen curtain. This simple yet bold treatment adds softness and warmth to what could otherwise be a stark space. A wardrobe and laundry area, concealed within custom carpentry crafted by SSF Meble, complete the functional aspects of the apartment while maintaining the clean aesthetic.
Patrycja Suszek-Rączkowska's design philosophy centers on creating dialogue between geometry and expression throughout the space. Simple lines and clear blocks are intentionally broken up with rounded forms and intense color accents that prevent the minimalist approach from becoming cold or sterile. The interior forms a harmonious composition through the juxtaposition of navy blue, blue, green, yellow, and red, creating visual interest while maintaining overall cohesion.
The carefully selected materials contribute significantly to the apartment's sophisticated atmosphere. Natural stone, matte surfaces, linen fabrics, and handcrafted Jieldé lamps work together to create a space filled with light, varied textures, and subtle contrasts. The design is further enhanced by paintings from Łukasz Blikle, which introduce elements of movement and emotion that complement the architectural features and furniture selections, completing this successful example of contemporary urban living.
