The Korean Cultural Center in Abu Dhabi is hosting a specialized anti-aging workshop focused on Korean beauty techniques, marking the first time Korean-style skincare routines have been customized specifically for the UAE's hot climate. The event, organized in collaboration with the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in the UAE and the Korea Cosmetic Industry Institute, is part of the broader Medical Korea initiative aimed at promoting Korean healthcare and beauty expertise internationally.
The workshop will feature two distinguished speakers bringing different aspects of anti-aging expertise to participants. Dr. Sung-Taek Kwon, former president of the Korean Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons, will deliver a professional lecture on the scientific aspects of aging, covering biological mechanisms and their impact on appearance and health. The second speaker, JED (Shin Sun-Ae), a world-renowned K-beauty makeup artist, will share the latest trends in Korean beauty and demonstrate skincare routines using vegan products made with wild ginseng from Mt. Jiri.
Participants will have the opportunity to experience Korean anti-aging skincare routines firsthand through live demonstrations. The workshop has been specifically designed to accommodate the local culture, including demonstrations using products suitable for Muslim women. All skincare routines presented will be customized for the Middle Eastern climate, taking into account the unique environmental challenges of the region.
The event is scheduled for Thursday, October 16, 2025, at 7:00 PM at the Korean Cultural Center in Abu Dhabi. Admission is free, but pre-registration is required through the provided online form. Notably, Korean nationals are not eligible to participate in this event, which appears to be specifically targeted at local UAE residents and expatriates from other countries.
The workshop is structured in two main parts, each focusing on different aspects of anti-aging and K-beauty. Part One, led by Dr. Kwon, will cover scientific insights into aging, including the concept and biological mechanisms of aging, its impact on appearance and health, and approaches to healthy aging from a plastic surgery perspective. Part Two, presented by JED, will focus on practical K-beauty applications, covering global K-beauty trends, principles of Korean anti-aging skincare, customized routines for the Middle Eastern climate, and live demonstrations using vegan products.
This workshop represents a significant cultural exchange initiative, bringing Korean expertise in beauty and skincare to the Middle East while adapting these techniques to local needs and preferences. The emphasis on vegan products and climate-specific customization demonstrates the organizers' commitment to making K-beauty accessible and relevant to the UAE audience.
