Georges Hoeflich, a passionate nature photographer and resident of Maurens, will once again display his stunning collection of wildlife and landscape photographs during the village's annual festival. The exhibition, which has become a beloved tradition, will feature animals, insects, and scenic views from the Lauragais region in southern France.

This year's photography showcase marks a welcome return after the festival committee was forced to skip this popular attraction last year. Hoeflich has committed to participating in the 2025 edition of the Maurens festival, bringing his artistic vision back to the community event that celebrates local culture and talent.

The exhibition will feature approximately fifty different photographs, displayed in the former town hall building located at 1 Place de l'École. Visitors will be able to view twenty-five framed photographs alongside twenty-five posters, all available for purchase at five euros each. "This pricing allows as many people as possible to own one of these works," Hoeflich explained, emphasizing his desire to make his art accessible to everyone.

The photography exhibition will run on Saturday, August 23 from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM, and Sunday, August 24 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, then again from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Entry to view the photographs is completely free, encouraging community participation and appreciation for local artistic talent.

Hoeflich promises that this year's selection will include some of his most recent work, with several photographs that have never been shown to the public before. As an experienced exhibitor who regularly displays his nature photography at events like Easter celebrations and the Cocagne Festival in Saint-Félix-Lauragais, he carefully curates each show to offer fresh perspectives on the region's natural beauty.

The photography exhibition is just one highlight of the three-day Maurens festival program. Friday evening features a belote card tournament in the air-conditioned community hall, with teams competing for a 14-euro entry fee starting at 8:45 PM. Saturday's festivities include a doubles pétanque competition at 2:30 PM, followed by an evening meal featuring aligot sausage (19 euros for adults, 12 euros for children aged 5-10), and a disco party with Malibu podium and DJ Seb starting at 10:00 PM.

Sunday's program begins with an 11:15 AM mass followed by a complimentary aperitif. The weekend concludes with an aperitif and dinner show featuring magrétade (same pricing as Saturday) and entertainment by La Bande du Cosmo, a music-hall style performance group. Festival meal reservations can be made by calling 06 87 88 46 48 or 06 03 64 50 90.

Beyond the Maurens festival, Hoeflich maintains an active exhibition schedule throughout the region. Some of his photographs are currently displayed on the Charles-de-Gaulle walkway in Revel as part of the "Promenades des Arts" cultural program. He is also scheduled to participate in the Birds Festival in Soual on October 11-12, and the third edition of the Nature Photography Festival in La Pouzaque, Verdalle on the same weekend, demonstrating his growing reputation in regional artistic circles.
