The High Commission of French Polynesia is inviting painters from the Leeward Islands to participate in an upcoming art exhibition scheduled for November 12 at the State Residence in Uturoa, Raiatea. The event aims to showcase the diversity of contemporary local artistic creation and provide a platform for regional talent.
The State Residence in Uturoa will be transformed into a temporary gallery for the evening, with its official walls displaying paintings from artists representing Bora Bora, Huahine, Maupiti, Tahaa, and Raiatea. The exhibition is designed to offer a showcase for the artistic talents of the Leeward Islands and encourage local creativity in all its forms.
The exhibition maintains an open format with no imposed theme, presenting what organizers describe as a kaleidoscope of styles and techniques. Artists may work in various media including gouache, acrylic, oil, or mixed techniques, provided their works do not exceed 150 centimeters on any side. Each participating painter will be allowed to submit up to three artworks for consideration.
Interested artists have until Friday, October 10, to submit their application materials via email. The required submission package must include a brief biography of no more than 10 lines, a curriculum vitae, visual representations of the proposed artworks, and a descriptive sheet specifying the title, dimensions, technique, and year of creation for each piece, along with complete contact information.
An artistic committee will handle the selection process, and chosen candidates will be notified by email. Artists should note that transportation costs for their paintings will remain their responsibility, and direct sales will not be permitted at the venue during the exhibition.
Application materials should be sent by email to corinne.kupperpolynesie-francaise.pref.gouv.fr and subdiv-iles-sous-le-ventpolynesie-francaise.pref.gouv.fr. For additional questions or information, artists can call 40 60 00 50 or email subdiv-iles-sous-le-ventpolynesie-francaise.pref.gouv.fr.
