South Korean girl group Red Velvet released a new mini album titled "Cosmic" on Monday. The album comprises six tracks that utilize celestial metaphors to explore themes of significant values and relationships.
The lead track, also named "Cosmic," was composed by Kenzie, a veteran producer known for her work on numerous K-pop hits, in collaboration with the Swedish musician duo Moonshine. The song narrates an encounter with a traveler from a distant star, through whom the group learns about eternal love. The quintet's harmonized vocals emphasize the romantic and fairytale-like ambiance of the track.
Other tracks on the album include “Sunflower,” “Last Drop,” “Love Arcade,” “Bubble,” and “Night Drive.”
This release coincides with Red Velvet's 10th debut anniversary, having first appeared in the K-pop scene in August 2014 with their single “Happiness.” To mark the occasion, the group will embark on a fan concert tour starting on August 3-4 at the SK Olympic Handball Stadium in Seoul, followed by performances in Bangkok on August 17-18, Jakarta on September 7, Manila on September 14, and Macao on September 28.
